Facility still...

Haven't posted in a while i know, but i've had a few projects on the go-which will eventually go up but not yet. This is one that was finished today finaly! Started with an ambient occlusion pass(as shown) and then i just went in with textures, colour and re-doing a lot of the lighting.

Castle concept.King lives up high protected,with a jet-esque engine lookout revolving around him,the poor live down in the smokey and polluted bowels of the castle...

Couple of quick sketches-there was a third but wasn't going to waste my time putting it up!lol.Top one took about 15 mins and the bottom one around 20mins.These were just supposed inspire myself abit for the project i'm doing at the moment and they have given me some ideas so thats good!Think i may have to open another blog to house this stuff...

This is something Senior Nix and i are working on.Just whacked this up as i noticed my online folio was getting a bit background heavy, theres plenty more which will go up in due course.

Pollution Planet...

GLOBAL WARMING!Yea this place-its all gone rubbish,airs naff, skys naff, Tv schedules naff; it's all naff!!!They've run out of fossil fuels and winds rubbish but fortunatly they worked out how to harness the power of lightning so they can keep thier George Foremans running...

A bridge too far..

Well i thought i'd have a go at pulling some photos together and painting into them using "Kiss Chase in Space" as the influence. I'm not entirely happy with it (worst offenders being the bridges-it almost looks photoreal without them lol) but its something to build on i guess...

30 min desert sketch....

Was stuck for ideas so i thought i'd go back to an old premise-which was my grad film. This is the colour/composition sketch i've just done quickly before i begin the main piece. It will have some bridge structures in it eventually but at this stage i'm not sure how i want them to look...

Port Side

At first i was enjoying painting all the colour and vibrancy-especially after the dreary darkness of my last piece, but then i got bored and wanted to move on to something else....Killzone!Mwahaha!So i leave it here, don't want to overwork it too much-if i'd add anything it be a structure right in the forground!

A dragon-guarded underground vault...

Ok i usually like to paint a lot looser with paintings but on this one i thought i'd go with a more detailed one for a change. The lightings not perfect but the more arches i added in the more trouble i found myself in. I went a little mad with waterfall on the right-i'm glad i put it in, but i think its slightly too bright(i'll probably have another stab at painting water next as this was my first attempt) In hindsight a proper tech drawing first would have been better as a lot of the perspective is made up in places and the arches aren't all exactly the same-but i know for next time...

Quick colour skecth...

Was planning on doing a piece based on the underground vaults of gringotts bank(Harry Potter) for a while now, so i figured i'd pull my finger out now that i've just began my unemployment.Its just a colour/lighting sketch-took around 45mins i guess, will most likely do a more detailed painting now i've got this to work from...

The Aladdin Pantomime was on the other day, i was so offended by it i decided to do my own interpretation of Agrabah, was just a mood speed paint sketch,took nigh on 2 hours i think it was.
